Signs your computer may be monitored
- Someone knows what you searched, emailed or wrote, without you telling them
- You get sign-in alerts, password resets or security emails you did not ask for
- Programs you do not remember installing, or the mouse moving on its own
- Emails going missing, or replies arriving that you never sent
- Someone else set the computer up, or had it on their own for a while
None of these prove anything on their own, which is why a proper check beats guessing.
What we check on your computer
Monitoring software and keyloggers
Programs that record keystrokes, screenshots, browsing or webcam, including commercial monitoring tools that antivirus does not always flag.
Remote access
Remote control tools left installed, extra user accounts, and admin access someone else still holds.
Browsers and saved passwords
Unfamiliar extensions, a browser profile syncing to someone else, and saved passwords they could already know.
Email and online accounts
Forwarding rules, recovery email and phone numbers, active sessions and connected apps on your email, Microsoft, Google and Apple accounts.
If we find something
Nothing gets deleted or changed until you decide. Removing monitoring software, or suddenly changing a password, can tell the person watching that you know, and it can destroy evidence you may want later for police, a lawyer or an apprehended violence order.
So we explain what we found in plain language, give you a written summary, and talk through your options. If you are working with a support service, we can plan the next step with them. You stay in control the whole way.
Common questions
Will antivirus find this kind of software?
Not always. Some monitoring programs are sold as legitimate products, so security software may not treat them as a threat. We look for them directly.
Will the person know I had my computer checked?
The check itself is usually not visible. Changing passwords or removing software can be noticed, so we plan any changes with you first.
Should I just wipe the computer?
Sometimes that is the right step, but it removes evidence and does not fix access through your email or cloud accounts. We help you decide, and do it safely if you choose to.
Do you check Macs as well as Windows?
Yes. We check Windows PCs and Macs, and the online accounts both rely on.
What does a check cost?
